China, Brazil hold Finance Deputies Dialogue

The first China-Brazil Finance Deputies Dialogue was held in Wahington,
US on Sunday on the sidelines of the spring meeting of the World Bank and
the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In the Dialogue, the two sides exchanged views on macroeconomic
situations, including their own economic performance, domestic fiscal and
monetary policy issues.
They also had extensive discussion on economic development strategies and
financial sector reforms of the two countries. The Dialogue was held in
candid and in-depth manner.
Two sides stressed the important role the Dialogue has played in
strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation in macroeconomic and
finance areas of the two countries. Chinese Vice Finance Minister Li Yong
and Brazilian Vice Finance Minister Luiz Pereira co-chaired the Dialogue.
High-level officials from Finance Ministries and Central Banks of the two
countries attended the Dialogue.
The China-Brazil Finance Dialogue was established pursuant to the
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance of China and
the Ministry of Finance of Brazil on the Launch of the China-Brazil
Finance Dialogue, signed by the two Ministries in Beijing on March 23,
2006.
